Container Art Project

SPIRIT OF VANCOUVER
Container Art

Sound Design in collaboration with Rufus Waterlow
For the exhibition Container Art, an installation was presented that explored the subtle transitions between still imagery, movement, and sound. Graphic images were displayed both as prints inside the container and in a video in which different forms gradually merged into one another. Through this continuous movement, the images seemed to transform, creating an interplay between stillness and motion that invited viewers to experience the space in a different way.The sound accompanying the video, a combination of artistic tones and the calls of seagulls, connected the abstract imagery to its surroundings: the city, the harbour, and the ocean. This created an interplay between the artificial and the natural, between the enclosed space of the container and the expansive urban landscape beyond it. The installation demonstrated how image and sound can work together to transform the experience of a space. Through the interplay of form, movement, and sound, a moment of transformation became both visible and tangible. The work invited viewers to reflect on how we perceive our surroundings and how this perception is constantly shaped by time, movement, and sound. In this way, the container became more than a place to exhibit art; it became a space in which an everyday environment was transformed into a poetic and contemporary experience.
