Visiting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice didn’t feel like a typical museum visit; it was a brief, intimate moment inside Peggy’s world. Set right on the Grand Canal, Guggenheim transformed an unfinished little palace into the beating heart of modern art in Venice. A bold collector with a passion for the avant-garde, she filled her home with works by Picasso, Pollock, Dalí, and many others.

The visit was a delightful addition to our time in the city. My friend, overwhelmed by the amount of art we had seen in only a few days, paused to enjoy the serenity of the sculpture garden, while I wandered through Peggy’s former home. It felt like stepping back in time, soft light spilling across the walls, the shimmer of water through the windows, and masterpieces so close they seemed to breathe with the space.
